3D Environment Designer (m/f/x)
Newkinco is a venture builder/consultancy and lab that helps organizations to understand community-based innovation like web3 and the metaverse. We are experts in exploring new forms of digital equity and tokenizing emerging business models. Our team consists of experts from multiple disciplines, from game designer, software developer to Crypto and Web3 enthusiasts. As a remote-first company, we are looking for freelance collaborators worldwide. We are looking for autonomous, proactive and reliable people to work with a growing remote tech team focused on quality.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the project requirements and conceptualizing creative ideas
- Take concepts, architectural illustrations and other reference material and using these to produce 3D models of proposed worlds
- Use 3D modelling, texture, mapping, and other techniques to create graphics, visual effects, animations etc.
- Create 3D assets and support the development team in improving our experience builder
- Work with game developers to build gamified multiplayer experiences
- Create storyboards to visualize scenes and create environment for metaverse projects, games, and other visual effects
- Receive feedback from strategists, designers, and clients, and edit your creations based on the comments received
- Review 3D arts and recommend improvements
- Create 3D sculpts and assets to meet artistic and technical standards
- Troubleshooting any problems that arise during work on a project
- Meet with clients, designers, and strategists to discuss and review projects and deadlines
Qualifications:
- Certificate or degree in graphic design or a related field
- A strong portfolio of previous work and completed projects
- Strong working knowledge of industry-standard software like Blender, 3DMax, C4D
- Expertise in working with game engines like Unity, Unreal and (ideally) Godot
- Excellent creativity and artistic skills
- Solid experience in 3D animation and rigging
- Knowledge on how to bake textures and create low-poly optimised meshes
- An eye for details, composition, texture, colour, and lighting
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent time management skills
