Synthetic Colleague

The team had more backlog than engineers, and hiring was slow and expensive. Instead of another tool, we gave them a colleague. It has its own email and accounts, sits in the team chat, and takes work the way a person does: it asks questions, writes back what it understood, and starts only when whoever asked says yes. It is available around the clock, stays inside a fixed budget, and hands in tested work for review. Nothing ships without human sign off, and it can never approve its own work.
