Elon Musk to start the Neuralink brain chip trial in 6 months
According to Musk, the first two human applications targeted by the Neuralink device will be in restoring vision and enabling the movement of muscles in people who cannot do so. Among other lofty goals, Neuralink would allow the brain to control complex electronic devices and eventually treat brain diseases such as Parkinson’s, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.

A class-action lawsuit filed in a federal court in California this month takes aim at GitHub Copilot, a powerful tool that automatically writes working code when a programmer starts typing. The coder behind the suit argues that GitHub is infringing copyright because it does not provide attribution when Copilot reproduces open-source code covered by a license requiring it.
San Francisco to allow police 'killer robots'
San Francisco's ruling Board of Supervisors has voted to let the city's police use robots that can kill. The measure permits police to deploy robots equipped with explosives in extreme circumstances. Dr. Catherine Connolly, from the group Stop Killer Robots, said the move was a "slippery slope" that could distance humans from killing.
Scientists find COVID pandemic-related stress has aged teenagers' brains
A growing body of research is showing that the pandemic severely affected the mental health of young people around the world, with lockdowns and school closures taking their toll on children's and teenagers’ emotional well-being. On top of that, the stress has also physically altered their brains, making their brain structures appear several years older than those of comparable peers before the pandemic.
