The parallel universe of Rick and Morty’s NFTs
Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and crypto investment firm Paradigm launched an NFT collection called Art Gobbler last October. While the new collection markets itself as a self-sustaining art ecosystem, its tokenomics appear to reward early adopters disproportionately.
Reddit is joining the Web2 businesses making successful forays into the Web3 economy
The stats for Reddit’s NFT marketplace have so far been impressive. In just three months since launching, a total of 3 million wallets have been created by users on Reddit’s social networking platform. We have our own mini NFT collection, Newkinco’s Kinki Octopi. These crystalline cephalopods squeeze through the cosmic cracks of the metaverse, boldly going where no octopus has gone before.
These NFTs will be used as access cards by the team and our guests on newkinco’s Discord server, unblocking extra channels.
We chose to mint the collection on the eco-friendly proof-of-stake Polygon blockchain, which has been gaining a lot of traction amongst big brands expanding from Web2 into Web3 technologies (such as Nike, Adidas, and Prada et al). Polygon also offsets its carbon footprint via its partnership with Klima Infinity, a regenerative finance (ReFi) Web3 project.
